The CO2 Neutral Company label, managed by CO2logic and validated by Vinçotte as an independent third-party auditor, has now been recognised as proof of ‘Exemplarity’ by Brussels Economy and Employment.
CO2logic's CO2 Neutral Company label helps reinforce actions taken by leading companies to calculate and reduce their carbon footprint, and address remaining emissions by directing funding towards certified carbon credits annually.
The label has specific requirements that companies must meet, which are inspired by theop het GHG Protocol and SBTi. The label is validated the first year and then audited at least every 3 years by Vinçotte as an independent third party. This adds an extra layer of credibility to the label, especially as climate action requirements and green claims continue to evolve.Exemplarity
In March 2022, the government of the Brussels Capital Region launched the ‘Shifting Economy’ strategy with the aim of achieving carbon neutrality by 2050. At the heart of this strategy is the concept of ‘socially and environmentally friendly business’, which is in line with international standards such as the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations and the taxonomy of sustainable activities of the European Union.
Based on these guidelines, the Brussels-Capital Region has established criteria to encourage and recognise local businesses that demonstrate excellence in social and environmental responsibility. Those that meet these guidelines are recognised as ‘exemplary’.
After a thorough evaluation of CO2 Neutral label protocols and processes, Brussels Economy and Employment recognised CO2logic's Company, Site and Headquarter labels as evidence of exemplary environmental responsibility.
