In early 2024, Maurin Group Belgium, a major group of car distributors with various dealerships throughout Belgium, decided to use the Vinçotte Digi-Tags solution to track their equipment.
Prior to the implementation of Digi-Tags, Maurin Group did not use a central management system. Each dealership worked with its own overview of inspections and repairs, often manually via Excel. This was inefficient and led to significant time loss.
"Tracking all the different companies within the Group correctly was difficult," says Dominique Vangeloven, Manager Building & Facilities, Prevention & Audits. "Therefore, automating this entire process was very important for the Maurin Group."
The choice for Digi-Tags was obvious. A clear overview of all equipment via QR code makes it easy to follow the remarks of Vinçotte inspectors. All tasks, following-up repairs, or verification of what exactly was repaired, can be accessed with one click on a regular smartphone.
Maintenance and monitoring of equipment (VCA) not inspected by Vinçotte is also possible within Digi-Tags. Employees created their own checklists and periodic internal inspection and maintenance tasks.
The implementation process went smoothly thanks to Vinçotte's expertise. "The biggest challenge in implementing Digi-Tags was not with Vinçotte," explains Dominique, "but rather with changing the company culture to get all involved personnel on the same page and convince them of the usefulness and user-friendliness of the system."
After the initial training in the use of the management system, the personnel could learn to deal with the change in operation themselves. In addition, Maurin Group also had several follow-up meetings with the Digi-Tags team, where they requested additional functionality that Vinçotte then developed for them.
Digi-Tags brought about a positive cultural change within Maurin Group Belgium. Excel was replaced by the fast and clear Digi-Tags solution, which significantly increased efficiency and transparency for Facility Management.
In 2025, Maurin Group is the largest distributor of vehicles from foreign brands and one of the largest car distribution groups in France. In early 2016, the group entered the Belgian market when it acquired the Mercedes-Benz dealership GMS Leuven and its sister company GMS Store, now renamed Nissan Leuven. The group now has 30 dealerships, including the brands Mercedes-Benz, smart, Ford, Nissan, Kia, Maxus, and recently Toyota.
