Vinçotte cares about transparency: What we do with your personal data – How we collect it – How we store it – How long we keep it - How you can modify / delete your data.

Vinçotte refers to the global organization, and may refer to one or more separate legal entities. The data controller collecting and processing the personal information provided by a visitor to Vinçotte.be (“Our Site”) is the Vinçotte member firm in the visitor’s country or another Vinçotte member firm to which the visitor has submitted their personal information.

This statement, set forth below, is our privacy statement for the global organization of Vinçotte member firms and other entities within the Vinçotte group. Here we describe the practices we follow to respect the privacy of all visitors to Our Site.

In this statement, personal information means data which relates to an individual and which identifies that individual, either directly or indirectly, such as your name or your contact information. If you have any questions regarding the processing of your personal information, please contact DPO@Vinçotte.be or your usual Vinçotte representative.

Collection, use, disclosure, choice

Registration is not required for you to use the Vinçotte Website (Our Site). If you are merely a visitor, we do not collect any personal information about you, except to the limited extent through the use of cookies for google statistics to improve Our Site’s performance and to enhance your browsing experience.

What is a cookie?

A "cookie" is a technology that allows Our Site to store tokens of information (an 'identifier') in your browser used only by Our Site while you are on Our Site. Cookies are not used to determine the personal identity of anyone who is merely visiting Our Site.

How do I disable cookies?

You may be allowed to use the website to register for a Vinçotte service. In that case we will use security measures such as encryption using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology to protect the security of your information.

Unfortunately, no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. Accordingly, and despite our efforts, Vinçotte cannot guarantee or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us (inbound), or to or from our online products or services. However, Vinçotte guarantees its outbound data transmission to be secure using secure socket layer.

You hereby acknowledge that Vinçotte is not responsible for any intercepted information sent via the Internet, and you hereby release us from any and all claims arising out of or related to the use of intercepted information in any unauthorized manner.

You should be aware that other Internet sites that link to Vinçotte Websites or e-mail may contain privacy provisions that differ from the provisions of this Internet Privacy Statement. Vinçotte has no control over and is not responsible for the privacy policies or content of such sites. To ensure your privacy is protected, we recommend that you review the privacy statements of other Internet sites you visit.

When you become a registered user on our site, or choose to interact with our site in other ways, we will collect certain personal information from you. The type of personal information collected will vary but may include name, address, phone number, birth date, billing and delivery information, e-mail address, The type of product or service that you seek will determine the personal information that is collected.

For example, you may choose to register for:

  1. Email alerts Vinçotte offers an email alert service to site visitors, in which we send subscribers email updates when new information is added to Our Site.
  2. Expressing an interest in working for Vinçotte Our Site enables you to register your interest in working for us or applying for an advertised vacancy.
  3. Survey Vinçotte Vinçotte may conduct survey’s via Our Site. Participants may be asked for personal information (name, contact information, etc.) in addition to opinions or feedback.
  4. Event registration Vinçotte facilitates event registration via Our Site or, at times, via third party web sites. Personal information may be collected via event registration forms and the type of information collected will vary. Vinçotte may share registrant information with third parties in association with the event.
  5. Vinçotte Client Portal If you have been given access rights to Vinçotte Client Portal by your Vinçotte contact, we would recommend you take note of the full privacy notice associated with this service. You will have access to the notice once you log onto Vinçotte Client Portal.

If you register on Our Site, your personal information will be stored in our customer relationship management (CRM) system. Data of registrants which have been out of active use for 18 months and without any contractual connection will be deleted from our CRM system.

Special categories of personal data

Vinçotte does not collect any special categories of personal data (sensitive personal information) via Our Site.

Security

Vinçotte works to protect the confidentiality and security of information it obtains in the course of its business. Access to such information is limited and policies and procedures are in place, designed to safeguard the information from loss, misuse and improper disclosure.

Disclosure

Vinçotte may only disclose your personal information outside of Vinçotte:

  • Where the disclosure is necessary to fulfill your request and involves a third party organization with which Vinçotte has a contract.
  • When explicit requested by site visitor
  • As required by a court order or any other legal or regulatory requirement
  • Vinçotte may use external service providers to assist with, for example, information technology and other administrative support services to operate Our Site.

Controlling your personal information

Vinçotte does not collect or compile personal information obtained by Our Site for dissemination or sale to outside parties for consumer marketing purposes or host mailings on behalf of third parties.

You are legally entitled to request details of the personal information we are holding about you. Vinçotte provides you the ability to keep your personal information accurate and up-to-date. If at any time you would like Vinçotte to rectify, erase or restrict the processing of your personal information, or you would like to obtain confirmation whether or not your personal information is processed by Vinçotte, access your personal information, exercise your right to data portability or withdraw your consent to processing, please contact DPO@Vinçotte.be.

Children

This website is not intended for use by children. We understand the importance of protecting children’s information, especially in an online environment, and we do not knowingly collect or maintain information about children.

Changes to this privacy statement

Vinçotte may change this privacy statement as needed. If changes to the statement are made, please note that it may take up to 30 business days before new privacy practices are implemented. Check this page periodically if you would like to monitor changes.

Unsubscribe

Vinçotte gives you choices regarding the collection and usage of your personal information. If you have registered for any Vinçotte related updates through Vinçotte.be, and do not wish to receive future e-mails, please visit our unsubscribe page within the application you registered.

Data Subject Rights

People whose personal data is stored are called data subjects. Vinçotte fully respect the general data protection law and data subjects can execute following rights:

  1. A Right of Subject Access. A data subject has a right to be supplied by a data controller with the personal data held about him or her. The data controller can charge for this (usually around 10€).
  2. A Right of Correction. A data subject may force a data controller to correct any mistakes in the data held about them.
  3. A Right to be forgotten. A data subject may prevent the use of information (erase) if it would be likely to cause them distress. Except when required by law to keep that information.
  4. A Right to Prevent Direct Marketing. A data subject may stop their data being used in attempts to sell them things (eg by junk mail or cold calling.)
  5. A Right to Prevent Automatic Decisions. A data subject may specify that they do not want a data user to make "automated" decisions about them where, through points scoring, a computer decides on, for example, a loan application.
  6. A Right to ask for data portability. A data subject may ask Vinçotte to provide his personal data in a digital readable format (example to be used as input for other providers). The data controller can charge for this (usually around 10€).
